After a number of departures from High River's town administration, the town is starting to re-stock.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says he's thrilled to have Tom Maier drop the "interim" from his title and take over as Chief Administrative Officer.

Snodgrass says Maier, who remains the Town's Chief Financial Officer, knows what's ahead.

"People that have been paying attention to the financial situation that High River has right now, and the plan that we have going forward, the ten-year plan for this, to get our finances in order, Tom's the one who put that stuff all together and it's his brains that are implementing these plans," he says.

Snodgrass says Maier was here before the 2013 flood and helped guide the town through the aftermath so having that continuity is very important.

"When you're hiring internally that learning curve of what's gone on through the flood and what's gone on in the past with High River, all of that's all done, Tom knows everything that's going on so we don't have that little break in the operations there," Mayor Snodgrass says.

Snodgrass says it's up to Maier as to whether he'll retain his position as Chief Financial Officer.
