The Rio Alto Restaurant in downtown High River is missing something special and they are hopeful someone will bring it back.

The rusty Mexican fiddle player that sat by their door for over a year disappeared last week and owner Hector Lopez is hoping someone will return it.

The statue was a gift from Carlson's owners Don and Brenda welcoming them to the neighbourhood when they opened.

"Last week on Sunday my statue was here, the next day it disappeared," said Lopez.

He is hoping someone will return it, and he will buy them lunch.

"I don't know if somebody took it for play. So I put it on my Facebook, the statue is gone and if someone finds it for sure I will give you a free lunch or a dinner. I would really appreciate it."

A Facebook post about the incident has been shared over 100 times.
