The Millarville Ag Society will be going through some major face-lifts over the next few months, upgrading the community hall and their riding arena.

The Millarville Community Hall will see extensive repair done to their heating system, to better serve the community.

During Wednesday's Canada 150 Program announcement, the group will receive $50,000 in funding for their renovation and expansion projects.

The hall which has been around since the 1940s, will be seeing massive overhauls on their heating systems.

Operations Manager of the Millarville Racing and Ag Society Kelly Dinning says it's time to modernize.

"When you have over 100,000 people over the years coming through a facility like RMRAS, it takes it's toll on it," she says. "We're looking on some updating, especially our furnaces, we have four in the main building and they all need to be upgraded."

Dinning says the Ag Society is grateful for the funding.

"A huge help to us for the future," she says. "And to make sure we can do some cosmetics as well, so we're a little bit more current, and we'll be able to rent our facility more for weddings, corporate functions and community events."

Also part of the $50,000 renovations will be an upgrade in the riding arena, specifically for the Christmas market.

Dinning says it will improve the overall experience for vendors at the market.

"Our arena is heavily used by our membership," she says. "As well we use it for our Christmas market in early November, and you look at all those vendors we have in the summer, we try to get as many of those people inside our arena, and all of those folks need power.
