The Millarville Sports Association is looking for people to get to any device they can and vote for them in the Calgary Hitmen Foundation's
give-away.

Up for grabs is $50,000.

Chairman Bryan Pederson says they want to put down a concrete floor on their outdoor rink.

"We use it in the summertime for some of our younger soccer players, they use that for just around the boards and in the winter time our pond hockey league starts up, usually the first week of November and and Mother Nature, she's the one who dictates the rules as to when we can play ofn the ice," Pederson says. "So typically we don't get ice in there until the first week of December if we're lucky and then that continues on until the first couple weeks of March."

They have 104 kids involved in the pond hockey league with teams from Millarville, Cochrane, Black Diamond, Bragg Creek and Canmore.

He says the rink, which is also located next to the Millarville school is used year round by different groups and being able to put down a concrete foundation will  allow them to use the facility more and use less water to make ice in the winter and to keep it going..

There are three finalists for the grant money but they need people to vote for them so they can win.

"It's set up so you can vote four times a day per device, whether it's your phone or computer or i pad etc, and the most votes after May 1st wins," he says.
