Members of the legislature are headed back to Edmonton for the beginning of the spring session Tuesday when the Speech from the Throne will be presented.

Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says he's looking forward to getting down to business again.

"It's going to be an interesting session, that's for sure," Anderson says. "Rest assured the Wildrose caucus has been planning this event going into the Throne Speech and this next spring session with a lot of interpretation, especially around issues like the carbon tax they (the NDP Government) want to bring in and the budget,"

He says there's still a lot of people upset over the farm worker protection act or Bill 6. He says the timing of consultations with work groups is pretty suspect.

"This is the busiest season when farmers go out, get all their equipment ready, they maintain their equipment, they to go out and procure their seed and their fertilizer, they're going to be busy working in the fields and they're not going to have time, and I think this was done on purpose and I'm really disappointed with this current government."

The oft-delayed budget is also a burr in the saddle of the Highwood MLA. Anderson says the government put it off in the spring so as to not interfere with the federal election and now they won't bring the budget down until mid-to-late April, which, he says, means they won't get to debate it until May. He claims the government wants to put it off until after the Calgary By-election.
