One person who's not thrilled with the lack on progress on Disaster Recovery Program claims is Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson.

He says the NDP's lack of movement since they were elected back in May shows a real lack of empathy.

"I'm very disappointed with the fact that I've been trying to speak with some ministers about issues in High River and they have neglected to return my e-mails, they won't communicate, but they seem to have time via Twitter to prove to the world they're all out there campaigning for their federal counterparts, but they can't do their jobs and it's really disappointing for me now," Anderson says.

He points to a verbal agreement he knows about with a local developer who's property was affected by the 2013 flood, who can't get hold of anyone with the government to actually get something in writing.

And Anderson says news that an alignment has been agreed to for the southwest berm is great, but so far all it's received from the province is a verbal commitment and it needs to be dealt with to get funding in place so it can move forward in a timely manner.
