The last Model T races of the season took place at the High River Ag Grounds on September 9th.

Racing Model Ts started in 1941 as the vehicles were dug out of farm fields and stripped back to the bare essentials.

The vehicles are only equipped with running gear, fuel tank, radiator, steering wheel and a rudimentary seat.

The first races featuring Model Ts helped to raise money for children left orphaned after the war in Europe.

The Alberta Fairground T Racers had five stops this year including two in High River and the cars and drivers are starting to be a popular feature at fairs around the province.

The Model Ts will be back next spring.

Pictures are from June 18th and September 9th.

The drivers in these photos include Trevor Landage, Peter Anderson, Robb Wolff, Bryne Brander and Ted Zylstra. A couple of the numbers were missing off the program.

Robb Wolff is seen talking to a group of children waiting for their turn to go on a ride.
