The Province is adding at least 100 new paramedics and deploying more ambulances to rural Alberta.

They're also looking to improve the patient transfer system, which has long been an issue in ambulance coverage for rural areas.

They're also kicking in a million bucks to support EMS workers with mental health issues.

The downside for Foothills residents is it doesn't look like any of the new additions will be coming our way, with Calgary getting 10 new ambulances and about 30 more EMS staff.

Outside of Calgary and Medicine Hat, the bulk of the new staff and equipment will be heading to Northern Alberta.
