A second fire crew from the Claresholm/Willow Creek area is headed north to help fighting that massive forest fire in and around Fort McMurray.

The crew already there, led by MD of Willow Creek Fire Chief Travis Coleman will be replaced by this crew.

The same story with the High River Fire Fighters who are there now.

High River Fire Chief Len Zebedee says each crew works four 16 hour shifts and are then relieved.

That means we could see another crew from High River heading north as early as Sunday or Monday.

The locals on the scene are Trevor Allan, HRFD Deputy Chief, Brent McGregor HRFD Captain, Fire Firefighters Lane Hall, Chris Connell and John Badduke along with Cody Zebedee, a Captain with the Foothills Fire Department.

Also helping out is High River's Director of Emergency Management, Carly Benson, which leaves Chief Zebedee in charge of the Town's Emergency Management.

The latest bunch of Fire Fighters heading from our area include four from the Claresholm Fire Department, and one from Fort MacLeod.

High River Fire Fighter Lane "Lightning McQueen" Hall posted these photos from Fort McMurray on his Facebook page:

Here's a couple of more photos from the Claresholm Fire Department's Facebook Page showing the fire from the perspective of the Willow Creek Fire Department crew up there.
