The thunderstorms and downpours stopped in just enough time for the 2016 Graduates of Highwood High School Thursday afternoon at George Lane Park.

Graduating student Samuel Locken says he's looking forward to a little break.

"I'm going to be doing some traveling all over Europe starting at Norway and pretty much just working south. It feels pretty good, it's nice to have it all over but it was a lot of fun, the past two years have been the best by far."

He says he has no concrete plans for the future in terms of post secondary education and is more focused on a little time off to take a breath and have a little fun.

Student Haley Latta says she's ready for what's next in her academic career.

"I'm going to Randolph Academy for teh Performing Arts. After that I plan to go to the Royal Conservatoire of Music in Scotland to get a Masters degree in drama. If everything goes according to plan that will all be done within the next five or six years, I'm looking to perform with Broadway across Canada."

She says she'll miss High River when she moves to Toronto for the first step in her schooling but has the goal of becoming an Actor, Singer and Dancer to keep her focused.

Graduate Taylor Lentz says she couldn't have asked for better teachers to help her through the year.

"I'm going to work and get some money under my belt. High School was good for me, I had a lot of fun this year  I played my first year of Rugby with Phil Young who is an amazing Coach."

She says she has several ideas of what she'd like to work towards like becoming a Real Estate Agent but admits she is looking forward to earning some extra cash and having a well deserved break.
