The Foothills School Division is scheduled to talk about conceptual designs for the Aldersyde high school site next week.

With discussion of the 40 acres of land purchased by the Town of Okotoks just north of town and it's potential to be a school site, FSD is moving forward with plans for the Aldersyde school site.

Drew Chipman, assistant superintendent, says the meeting with architects doesn't tie their hands to anything.

"We're still gathering information but at this point until we have all the facts and have all the information and it's preliminary to make any kind of decision on whether there will be a change or whether there won't be," Chipman says.

Chipman says the board is currently moving ahead with plans for the Aldersyde high school as they don't have enough information to do otherwise.

"We're not in a position where we can make any different decisions at this point but the board is cognizant of the issue and they want to make sure they have all the information before they make any permanent change in their direction."

He says if information points the board in one direction that's where they'll go and says it has yet to be seen whether consultation will be involved.
