If you have ever wanted to learn more about municipal elections, you're in luck.

High River will be having a municipal election this October, and the town is beginning it's preparations.

Kara Rusk, Manager of Legislative Services and Returning Officer for the town, says they are seeking resident's help in filling specialized contract positions.

"We're looking for anyone who is interested in learning more about working for a municipality, as well as all of the things that go on behind the scenes to provide a flawless election."

Rusk says there are lots of specialized contract positions available to residents.

These include 13 position openings for Deputy Returning Officer, two positions for Mobile Returning Officer, one Election Door Attendant, and two Voting Tabulator Clerks.

In total, 18 positions are available to the public.
