The big item on the agenda for the Museum of the Highwood at their last AGM was their brand new climate controlled storage facility.

Museum Curator Irene Kerr says they had a lot of work to do fast to get it ready to go.

"It was a pretty short timeline to do the renovations and get into the building. We put in rolling storage and it's really a nice facility. There's lots of room for growth, it's climate controlled and it's probably the nicest facility we've ever had, and over the years there's been some pretty frightening ones."

Kerr says this is the first year in several years they felt like they were able to look to the future, and not have to deal with issues like flooding or fires, but can now look to grow the museum.

Kerr says they'll also continue with the same board for another year as no one had reached the end of their term yet.

The storage space had to face some signifcant clean-up and renovation before they could start to house artifacts in it.
