Local reaction is starting to roll in to the SNC/Lavalin scandal.

High River Chamber of Commerce President Steve Muth says it paints a picture for local business owners of a government who's not looking out for them, but for those who they feel will help them stay in power.

"It should be very disturbing to every business owner, if the facts come out that a government has knowingly and willingly circumvented the law to protect one single business in a single part of the country to the detriment of other businesses in the country."

Muth says news like this only serves to strengthen feelings of western alienation and mistrust of government.
