Seven new businesses have decided to call Downtown Nanton home over the past few months.

Mayor Rick Everett says it's simply a matter of the and Town Council streamlining the process of getting a business up and running.

He says the Town is "open for business."

"We're moving, we're changing and I think we have almost every place in town full. And as we move along, we're trying to keep it going. As the Town expands, as we build more homes. You know what? We're changing the way business is done in this community."

He says what's most encouraging is the new businesses are being opened by locals.

Clothing stores, a tea shop, a seafood store and a bakery are among the new businesses.
