A new committee in Nanton will be working together to help gain funding to modernize J.T. Foster school.

Mayor Jennifer Handley says a new joint committee with town councillors and school trustee Brad Toone along with other school members they might be able to help secure the much-needed funding.

"How can we partner as a town and a school division to really help the government understand the needs that J.T. Foster has," said Handley."And to ensure this budget cycle we get the funding that we need."

Handley adds drastic changes are needed at the school.

The school division had suggested that a community committee has worked eleswhere and might be what is needed to get the ball rolling.

Along with Handley Councillors, John Dozeman and Danny McLelland have signed up with Terry Wickett as an alternative.
