The Town of Nanton is moving to curbside garbage collection and recycling come September.

Town Chief Administrative Officer, Kevin Miller, says the change will actually save the Town money.

"With our garbage pick-up, our recycling pick-up, and keeping our recycling centre open, it's going to be about $65,000 to $70,000 less, per year, than our basic service of the depot and our rear yard garbage pick up is today."

Miller says they'll keep the old recycling centre open, but change it a bit to accommodate things that won't go into the curbside bins, like electronics.
