Residents of the Dewinton and Calgary rural routes 8 and 9 and Heritage Pointe hamlet, near Dewinton, will be seeing some changes within the month of October.

These residents will now have to use their 911 address as their mailing address to receive and send mail, but that's not all.

Due to the change made by Canada Post, community members will also have the responsibility of updating their property address on the certificate of Alberta Land Titles.

M.D. of Foothills corporate communications coordinator Leslie Lambert says the update is very important to take care of now sooner than later.

"That's really important to do because legally that is where the M.D. of Foothills gets the addresses from. So when we send out tax notices or any legal mail we use the address on the certificate of the title."

Mailing addresses will start transitioning over on October 17th.
