Brand new change rooms are being built in the field at Highwood High school and they should be completed within the next two or three weeks.

This is just the start of what the school division has in store for upgrades and contractor Mike Bliss who's building the change rooms says there's likely more to come.

"I think this is phase one of about a five-year plan for the school division to do upgrades on the field among other things. These change rooms will be the start of it and I think there's plans for new bleachers and lights."

He says when it's all done there will be two change rooms, one for the home team and one for visitors.

"The change rooms are basic but they're huge. We're not quite sure what's going to be on the inside, probably just plywood and paint with benches and there will be lighting at some point."

Bliss said the change rooms would have been completed by now but they were held up waiting for proper paperwork to get the job started.

"We had some permit delays, nothing major but we lost our summer."

He says the change rooms should be finished in two or three weeks.
