The Town of High River programming department is gearing up for the changing of the season, with its new Fall Community Program and Event Guide.

Community programmer for the Town, Jocelyn Edwards, says there are several new course they're offering.

"We have lots of new programs such as karate, zumba sentao, nia and more," she says, adding that they'll also be offering new painting courses by local artist Tracy Bohning.

Edwards says each individual who signs up for two programs will get 50 per cent off both programs.

All recreational programs have now moved to the upper part of the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre, and the Charles Clark Medical Centre will no longer be used as a venue for fitness classes.

Edwards says they're also bringing back recreational hockey this fall and winter, which is an extremely popular program.

So popular, she says they're short on volunteer coaches.

"Our rec-hockey coaches basically commit from October to March," Edwards says. "They are volunteer-based and we're looking for coaches for ages six to eight, nine to 11, and possibly 12 to 15."

If you would like to coach a recreational class, you can contact Jocelyn Edwards at 403-603-3494.
