After being shut down since April, the concession at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex is back open again.

Kurt Chan, who operates the concessions at the Okotoks Rec-Centre and the Pason Centennial Arena took it over a few weeks ago.

"It's not doing so bad now. It was a rough start. But, we're doing a little bit better than break even, so it's all good."

He says it's something he's been passionate about for a long time.

"Started off as a kid and hating the over-priced hot chocolate when I was finished skating, and I've been in the restaurant business ever since."

The Town shut the doors on the High River concession back in April saying they couldn't find enough staff and were losing money.

Chan says while it's been "break even" so far, he hasn't had any staffing issues.

Chan, who says he's been in the restaurant business all his life, says he hopes to see the operation turn into a money maker in the near future.
