New directional signage on area highways and on banners in downtown High River are starting to pop up.

Economic Development Manager Jodi Dawson says it is all part of their new brand and digital presence.

"We need to make efforts to make it easier to get around High River," said Dawson. "And really make the physical experience of High River as welcoming as the people experience is."

The branding exercise the Town did last year showed that people are the most important part of the community.

"It identified that our real strength is rooted in people. And so everything we do is from that foundation. I think a lot of places try to claim things like that. We're really going to step into it. So the special part of High River is the people, and we'll show you."

There are new directional signs on Highway 498 and new downtown banners are up on 4th Ave.

"We are looking at the 498 because there are three exits off of that road. I know that by improving some of that signage and wayfinding our overall impression when people drive into the town is that we are more welcoming and easy to get around."
