When fans come to the gates of Seaman Stadium, they'll experience something new and exciting at Dawgs games this summer.

The team has announced that they will be installing a brand new videoboard for the upcoming WMBL season.

Dawgs VP of Promotions and Special Events William Gardner says the board is one of a kind.

"It's a super sized scoreboard it's much larger than our existing video board so think of it as a giant flat screen for all the fans to enjoy," he says. "It will be highly interactive, it will be a video board that will allows us to do great in game promotions and really take our game day experience to that next level."

Gardner says it was time to upgrade their current board which had been in use by the team since they came to Okotoks.

"We felt it was time, we were in a financial position to do this now and in partnership with the Town of Okotoks to upgrade our scoreboard and really bring our fans something that takes this to the next level. It really takes it from the collegiate levels up to what is a minor league level programming board."

Gardner also added that fans will get an even better experience of purchasing tickets for all Dawgs games online for the first time and says it's long overdue.

"We have so many people that come from the Foothills corridor, the Calgary area and this just gives them the ability to know the assurance of having a seat. It's really something that some of the best sports team at the professional level are doing and we felt our fans deserve that luxury."

Gardner says the Dawgs have been looking closely at adding more seating capacity to Seaman Stadium in the coming years looking at numerous plans to accomadate what has really become a summer must do in the Foothills.

Opening day at Seaman Stadium goes June 3.
