Turns out it is a good summer for tourists in the Town of High River.

More than 1,800 visitors so far this summer have come into the Tourist Information booth at the Museum of the Highwood.

Coordinator Olivia Cotton Cornwall says setting up the new location has been a lot of work and a steep learning process, but it's been worth it.

"It is an adventure everyday that I come to work," said Cotton Cornwall. "You meet people from all over the world. It is actually a great job because you get to help people and you really get to make their trip. And there are a couple of people that I have met that will stand out forever."

She says the number of visitors coming into the Museum surprises her everyday, she didn't expect to be looking after almost 100 people every day.

"You look at the numbers and you double check and you triple check, it's amazing."

One family she won't forget is the Cook family from Utah, they had called ahead to make arrangements to come to High River just so their son could see some of the places Heartland is filmed at. When Cotton Cornwall realized they would miss seeing the show being filmed by a week she called them back and they changed their plans.

"And they caught some days, and they came in every day they were here for advice and counselling, and I will be getting Christmas cards from them now.

"It is quite amazing the connections you build with people and it is very rewarding when they do say you have made their trip."
