The issue of the speed limit on 12th Avenue west of the traffic circle was discussed at a recent High River Policing Committee meeting,

Some people in town feel it should be raised from the current 30-kilometres an hour.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says there's some concern with that.

"With the (sand) bags that are sitting there, we got the thing (road) opened and one of the key pieces to getting it opened to two way traffic with the bags having to stay on the road was liability, you know that word comes up in everything we do and we were advised keeping it at 30 kilometres an hour was the responsible thing to do," he says.

Snodgrass says the matter hasn't come to council to consider a change in the speed limit.
