Livingstone MacLeod MLA Pat Stier says a merger of Alberta's right wing parties isn't dominating his life.

Stier says it really isn't top of mind for many in the party and other than some off hand discussion, it wasn't brought up at the Wildrose party's recent convention.

"There was no official constitution proposal or resolutions to do with that at all," Stier says. "In the leader's speech it may have been alluded to in some regard in that since the Progressive Conservatives last May had decided that they were not interested to talk to us in any way, shape or form about that that we were going to carry on and proceed and our main objective is to oppose the government and to try to replace that government in 2019."

He says the major issues for his constituents remains the affect of the affects of the carbon tax coming in the new year and the loss of jobs in southern Alberta.
