The Alberta Serious Response Incident Team has been called in after an officer involved shooting Thursday, April 19, in Okotoks.

Police say sometime that evening they received a complaint about a suspicious male in a parked vehicle.

RCMP responded, and during the call a confrontation between the officers and the suspect resulted in one officer firing his gun.

The suspect was not injured.

The suspect, a 25 year old male, drove his vehicle into the police car, coming onto contact with the two officers, causing them to fall to the ground before driving off, he was arrested a short distance away and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Neither officer was seriously hurt in the incident.

The suspect remains in RCMP custody.
