The Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce will be holding their AGM in two weeks with hopes to see new members or current ones to take a higher role within the Chamber on their Board of Directors.

Chamber CEO Cheryl Actemichuk says plenty of new faces will become part of their board at the meeting.

"We nominate our new board of directors," she says. "Amber Chapman has finished her two year term as president so we'll have a new President stepping up along with two new Vice-Presidents, we'll also have room for a new secretary and treasurer to join the board too if they desire."

Andrew Gustafson will become the Chamber's new President.

Actemichuk says if you're a chamber member and would like to be involved, they're accepting nominations now.

"If you decide you'd like to be a part of the Board of Directors, it is a big commitment it is a volunteer role, there is some criteria you have to go through on the nomination process.

You can find the nomination forms and contact information here.

Actemichuk says its beneficial for business members to be a part of the Chamber's board.

"I think especially for new businesses in town for them to be involved in the Chamber it is a great way to let people know you're here and network and just be involved with other business professionals that may be have been in business in a while or haven't and are going through the same things you are as a business."

The AGM goes January 20th at the D'Arcy Ranch Golf Course.
