Holding the Okotoks Pro Rodeo in a different location this year turned out to be a successful change of venue.

Trevor Reidy, Marketing Director for the Rodeo, says the change of location was well received by many of the event patrons.

"We had a great crowd, and had several comments from various people saying what a great place, how awesome it was to have numbered seating back, with everyone able to see everything. So, they were really happy with it," he said.

Reidy says the intention is to continue to hold the Rodeo at the Millarville grounds, with some additions.

"There's so many more things we can do there. The parking is awesome, and we have a lot of space to do some additional events, we're going to add on to our kids area " he said.

Reidy says this year was only the fourth time they've experienced rain in 27 years, and despite the wet conditions, participants were happy with the ground conditions, and they are looking to make the Saturday night dance family friendly, instead of adult only.
