Making it to Banff National Park this summer may be a bit of a nightmare considering traffic, parking, and the free Canada 150 Park Passes, but there may be a more stress free option coming.

Regional Transportation Program Manager for the Calgary Regional Partnership Ettore Iannacito says On-It connects communities surrounding Calgary with each other, and this year would be a good opportunity to connect residents with Banff.

"Banff National Park anticipates they're going to get an increased amount of traffic, and people wanting to visit the park this year. We just came up with this idea to possibly run a trial service on weekends and holidays starting this summer, and provide a service from the Calgary and surrounding area to Banff National Park."

Iannacito shares while there have been discussions about the idea, nothing has been finalized yet.

"It's really just a concept right now, we're working with our partners we know that Parks Canada is very interested, as well as the towns of Banff, Canmore, and Cochrane. We're just trying to think of different concepts and strategies to try and get everyone connected and bring everyone to the park."

He says trial trips to Banff this summer is a good way to build the brand.

"Right now we're just getting people to try it, because we know for a fact when they get on the bus and see how nice it is, and how relaxing it is, that they'll use it again and again."
