Standing on a paddle board while doing yoga poses might seem a bit unusual to some people but it is a great way to get some exercise during these cold dark months.

The High River Rec-plex is having a trial run of beginner paddle board yoga and it turned out to be so popular they have already added two more classes.

Recreation Administration and Programming Supervisor Tracy Morgan says the original class was February 20th and they have added two more classes on February 4th.

"On facebook it totally exploded and we had so many excited people and we were full within a week," said Morgan.

Everything is supplied and with the lifeguards on deck and a trained professional instructing the class everything will be completely safe.

"It looks like it is a fairly popular program with the community so were are extremely excited that people have gotten enrolled and registered and ready to go."

Morgan adds it is a program they are looking to do more of.
