Parliament resumes in Ottawa Monday, September 17, and Foothills MP, John Barlow, will be front and centre in his new role as the Shadow Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour.

Barlow says the Trudeau Liberals have a lot to answer for over the summer.

"It was pretty much a "Summer of Failure" for the Prime Minister. Yet another ethics violation. The immigration of illegal migrants. The failure of Trans Mountain. Doubling down on the carbon tax. The inability to get a NAFTA deal signed. I know it's been a pretty disastrous last few months for the Prime Minister and unfortunately, that's a pretty rough last few months for the Canadian economy as well."

Barlow says he'll also be busy pushing the government to do more on the issue of rural crime.

In particular, Barlow says they'll be pushing the government on their proposed Bill C-75, which he says will reduce criminal sentences for some fairly substantial crime, which is something he says his constituents and the rest of the Conservative Caucus are against.
