The Province has promised some serious reductions to school and bussing fees for parents with kids in school in Thursday's Throne Speech.

Environment Minister Shannon Phillips says it's part of making life more affordable for Alberta families.

"One of the best ways we can do that is making sure that a basic public education does not come with a several hundred dollar price tag attached to it."

Phillips says they'll make up the difference by looking for money within their own budget.

"We found efficiencies in there and so we've re-directed those funds to make sure school boards are treated fairly as we eliminate those basic instructional fees."

More details will come out when the Province releases the budget Thursday, March 16.
