A planned power outage is the reason for the four way stop at the intersection of 12th Avenue and 5th Street by the High River fire hall.

FortisAlberta is replacing power poles and had to shut down the power to 79 customers, and the traffic lights at the intersection.

The outage along 4th and 5th Streets, as well as 8th and 12th Avenue and Crescent Avenue and Ellis Crescent will last until around 4:00pm, this afternoon.

In the meantime, the intersection is being operated as a four way stop.
