High River Town Council is currently looking at a proposal to make our town even more beautiful. At yesterday's council meeting Romy Honorio presented the idea of a Birchwood Park Garden, which will go on the triangle-shaped lot adjacent to the east side of Birchwood Park. Honorio says he and his board of directors came up with the idea around five months ago.

"We said, why don't we think of something that will make this land even more productive and at the same time we can make a contribution to High River? Anyway, it's just siting there."

He explains their vision is to cultivate tolerance and respect while bringing more tourism to town.

"In general, we want something different in our town. That's worth watching, worth going to, that's worth spending your time and your money."

Honorio hopes to achieve a multicultural user-friendly environment, and he is looking forward to council's response.

"We would like to know the feedback of the town council.  If they say yes we like the idea, then by all means, we have this group all ready. We can go out, talk to people, spead the news. We are ready for sponsors."

Honorio and his board of directors hope to attract people from neighboring towns and all over once the garden is built.
