A state memorial will take place for former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice Friday, October 28 and will be open to the public.

It'll go at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary starting at 11 A.M.

Prentice along with three others were killed in a plane crash last week shortly after take off from the Kelowna Airport.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and could take as long as a year to complete because there were no voice or flight data recorders on the small Cessna Jet.

Prentice served as Alberta's Premier for less than a year after winning the PC Party Leadership in 2014.
