Foothills residents will soon get a taste of an old fashioned country fair as the Priddis and Millarville Fair is gearing up for its 108th year.

Organizer Suzanne Sills says people can enter their baking, photography and animals, among other things, to compete for ribbons, money and bragging rights.

"And then there are all kinds of activities as well for people. We have the heavy horses, the walking treadmills to make ice cream, we have a magician, we have all kinds of entertainment on stage, and just lots of things to see and do and just have some old-time country fun."

Sills says the event will also coincide with the Millarville Farmers' Market.

"We have as many regular vendors as we would have any other Saturday, and sometimes we'll have extras because they want to come capture the additional people who come to visit the fair."

The event is one-day only and will take place on Aug. 15 at the Millarville Ag Grounds.

Gates open at 8:30 a.m.
