The Town of High River discussed some major topics at last week's council meeting.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says the meeting was especially positive because of the topics discussed.

"I guess the biggest thing that we were talking about coming out of that meeting is it was a really good meeting just because of some of the things that we were actually dealing with."

He says one major point was the Disaster Recovery Program Committee's report of proposed changes and amendments to the program.

"Having that report done and having the expectations put in place that all of the High River DRP files are funded completed by June 20, 2016, third year anniversary, that's a massive success to get there. Let's hope that we can get it done."

Snodgrass says another highlight was the distrubition of the Town of High River Disaster Relief Fund.

"The Community Donations Advisory Committee managed all the money and decided who was going to receive these funds from all of the money that was donated directly to High River from the flood. All the money has been distrubuted now. That's another major success for us to get through that and get past that."

Snodgrass says the Community Donations Advisory Committee really stepped up for a task that wasn't easy to do.
