The province has come up with the rules around the sale of cannabis in Alberta.

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission will oversee distribution through private retailers who will sell marijuana but it won't be available in liquor stores or where pharmaceuticals or tobacco is sold.

The Province will run online cannabis sales.

The legal age for possession in Alberta has been set at 18 and anyone under that age who possesses five grams or less while be charged under provincial statutes.

The legislation also sets out regulations for advertising, labelling and promotion if required after the federal regulations are set out.
