The One Act Regional Play Festival wrapped up April 27, and now it's time to move onto the Provincial One Act Play Festival which is also being hosted at the High River Memorial Centre May 3 through May 5.

Laura Snell, volunteer and member of the Windmill Theatre Players says people from all over the province will be coming to High River to perform.

"The cities or towns that are involved in this particular festival coming up this weekend come from; Innisfail, Calgary, Airdrie, Medicine Hat, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray, Camrose, and Grande Prairie."

Snell added that part of the appeal is that the plays only go for an hour at the maximum.

"It's kind of concentrated, like boiled down. So it's a shorter sitting period and sort of more bang for your buck so to speak."

Snell says there are two more sessions over the weekend, and at each session three individual plays are performed.

"Saturday afternoon the doors will open at 12:30 and the show will start at 1 o'clock, and Saturday night the doors open at 7:00 PM again and the show starts at 7:30. And the price for tickets is 15 dollars per session."
