Greg Pyra is taking another stab at a Council seat in Turner Valley.

He failed in his bid in 2017, but with Barry Crane stepping aside to take over as Mayor, he's one of six candidates running in next month's byelection.

Pyra says he wants to help keep the Town's expenses in line.

"I'm not entirely sure that spending is under control or if there's a full understanding of where there are expenditures. Apart from that, I think there are low budget items that we could implement that could improve the town."

He says water is a big issue for him heading into the campaign.

"Water rationing continues to be a concern. And so the question is how is Town Council going to put in place a framework for water shortages or for the pressing need for other surrounding communities to obtain water from the river."

Pyra and the rest of the candidates, will take part in a couple of forums.

The first is Monday, March 11 at 7 o'clock, while the second goes Thursday, March 28th, both at the Valley Neighbours Club at 7 and 7:30 p.m. respectively.
