The Sheep River Health Trust and Eagle 100.9 are joining forces again this April for their annual radiothon.

The Together We Make A Difference Radiothon looks to raise funds for health and wellness initiatives in the Foothills.

Tanya Thorn, Sheep River Health Trust representative, says there's a bit of criteria they're looking for groups to meet.

"We're looking for projects or programs that support health and wellness in the Foothills region, we don't typically fund salaries or transportation costs or vehicles, that kind of thing, we really are trying for it to be program based and sustainable."

New this year they're also looking for programs and facilities to have some sort of connection to Alberta Health Services.

Thorn says last year they raised over $56,000 and want to surpass that this year.

"We would like to see ourselves get to $70,000 this year," she says. "We've seen great growth in this event, it's an easy event for our residents to get involved in and if every person in the Foothills region was to come in and give us one dollar we'd be at $50,000 right there so every little penny counts on it."

The deadline to submit applications is Feb. 17 at noon.
