The Third Annual Together We Make A Difference Radiothon with the Sheep River Health Trust and Sun Country 99.7's sister station Eagle 100.9 blew their goal out of the water Thursday.

Thirteen hours of live broadcasting took place out of Okotoks Sobeys to raise funds for family and youth groups in the Foothills.

The goal was to raise $50,000 which has been surpassed and the current unofficial total sits at $54,500.

Tanya Thorn, Sheep River Health Trust representative, says it hasn't been decided how the extra funds will be used yet.

"It'll come back to our screening and tracking committee and we'll decide how we're going to deal with that," she says. "One of the projects we're funding is the lobby remodel here at the Okotoks Urgent Care so we're still waiting for numbers to come in and we're expecting that to be a multi-phase project so it might allow us to get it done sooner."

Thorn adds the campaign is still going.

"We're still tabulating everything and making sure our math is right and we still have the Sobeys till campaign so there's still some numbers to come in yet before a final number is released."

The last day for the Sobeys till campaign is Saturday.
