While Monday's rain will help out, the fire conditions in and around the Foothills are still high thanks to all the hot weather we've seen lately.

High River Fire Department Fire Prevention Officer, Clayton Rutberg, says this rain is only a brief respite.

"Its been very dry out. I mean the moisture will help a bit. But with the heat coming up again it'll still be quite dry and there's always the potential for grass fires and stuff like that."

Rutberg says you can still have a fire in your back yard in an approved fire ring.

However, there's still plenty of fire bans, restrictions and advisories in place in and around the Foothills, with temperatures expected to soar back in the 30's by Thursday of this week.
