Dealing with autism, ADHD, and asperger's is hard enough, but then imagine getting diagnosed with stage four lymphoma as well.

That's what happened to 13-year-old Okotoks boy Tanner Swaby when he woke up one morning with a lump on his neck.

Tanner wound up at the Calgary Children's Hospital to undergo some extensive treatment, but was also allergic to the chemo treatment, meaning he'll need allergy medication as well.

Unfortunately, these must-have medications are not covered by Alberta Health and cost a lot of money.

Tanner's aunt, Kellie Boutot, says Tanner's medication for 10-days is $2,000 and he'll need at least 12 of these prescriptions, totalling $24,000."

That doesn't include all the other costs associated with the treatment.

Boutot says it was quite the surprise because he never gets sick and showed no signs whatsoever of having cancer.

To help raise the necessary funds, the family has set up a GoFundMe Page and is hosting a silent auction fundraiser at the Canadian Brewhouse in Okotoks on December 1st at 7:00 P.M..

Boutot says, "We're also going to do a 50/50 and people have to purchase tickets to attend."

If you'd like to sponsor the event in some way, donate an item for the silent auction, or buy tickets, please call Kellie at 587-896-5355.
