A few hundred people were on hand for a celebration of all things High River Thursday, July 27, at Rotary Park.

The Rotary, Lions and Kinsmen Clubs have all come together to get both the Little Britches and Santa Claus Parade's under one banner.

Santa Claus Parade Chairman, Ted Dawson, says the big event was unveiling the Town's refurbished 1930's-era fire truck that'll be used for Parade Marshall's for both events.

"Just the way circumstances came together over the last couple of weeks, being able to get the fire truck and being able to use it for Parade Marshall's for both the parades as well as promoting High River at other events, like the Show and Shine or other community events in the area."

Dawson says they plan to take the fire truck to parades in Southeastern B.C., Saskatchewan, Northern Montana and all around Southern Alberta all to promote the Town.

In all 18 Honorary Parade Marshall's were selected for this year's Santa Claus and next May's Little Britches Parades.

They are:

Ted Oake and Pat George from the Lions Club.

Garth Brookwell from the Kinsmen Club
