Crews continue to clear debris from Highway 1 west of Field BC after a rockslide covered 10,000 cubic metres of highway on Tuesday.

Cpl. Peters of the RCMP says a portion of the highway has been cleared.

"The rock slide has been partially cleared enough that they've allowed one lane of alternating traffic to move through the area."

He says motorists traveling highway 1 area advised to expect delays of up to three hours and adds traffic is no longer being re-routed and highway 93 and 95 to Golden remain open.

"They're expecting to do further road work in that area to the west of Field later Friday afternoon and Drive BC are advising there are expected delays of up to three hours as that roadwork takes place."

He says motorists should drive for the road conditions and be patient and polite as the road work continues.
