Okotoks RCMP are investigating an assault involving a 19-year-old girl.

On Saturday night around 10:45 the girl was walking home in town across the Laurie Boyd bridge near the library to the large stairway that leads to Woodhaven Drive.

Police say she was approached and assaulted by a group of about 10 males and one female.

They're described as being in their early teens with the female being short with wide shoulders and a tiny waist with long, loosely curled blonde hair.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the attack.

RCMP say the reason for the attack is unknown and is currently being investigated.
