RCMP are reminding residents not to leave their cars unattended while they are running.

With the recent cold weather RCMP have noticed an increase in vehicle thefts.

They say vehicles that are left running and unlocked outside of homes, grocery stores, or even gas stations make for easy targets for criminals.

Police add vehicles should be locked when running and unattended, residents should ensure all their valuables are removed, and to report any suspicious activity to them.
