Turner Valley RCMP have arrested one man, they say is well known to them, after a brief chase Tuesday, February 26.

Shortly after 8 o'clock Tuesday night Mounties say they received a complaint of two suspicious vehicles, a white Chevy Avalanche and a stolen Red Dodge Durango, south of Black Diamond.

Police believe the drivers were both impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time and fled from police when they arrived, with the Durango losing control on a corner on Fire Guard Road, running into some trees.

The driver fled on foot, and was quickly arrested thanks to the help of a police service dog, and is facing charges of failing to stop for police, driving while prohibited and possession of stolen property.

The suspect, 45 year old Michael Zielinski, had been released from custody back on Saturday, February 9.

The female driver of the Avalanche evaded police.

Zeilinski will next appear in court, Tuesday, March 26.
